What happened

Carnival Tuesday, 17 February 2026, was the final day of the Parade of the Bands, with bands in full costume crossing the judging points around Port of Spain.

The big winner was The Lost Tribe. Its presentation "Island Circus" won Large Band of the Year and the overall Band of the Year title. Trinidad All Stars placed second with "Sailors Ashore in Japan", and Paparazzi third with "Elope: Destination I Do".

Road March: a record for Machel

The Trinbago Unified Calypsonians' Organisation (TUCO) announced that Machel Montano's "Encore" was the most played song at the judging points, with 171 plays. It was his 12th Road March title, which the Trinidad Guardian reported as the most by any artiste in Trinidad and Tobago. Aaron "Voice" St Louis was second with "Cyah Behave" (127) and Bunji Garlin third with "Roadman" (97).

A note on the results

Band of the Year results are judged by more than one body, and the medium and small band placings differ between them. In the results reported by the Trinidad Express and TTT, announced at the post-Carnival press conference, K2K Alliance & Partners won Medium Band with "Pollen Houses" and Tribal Connection Cultural Promotions won Small Band. The Trinidad Guardian's results table, from the Uptown Carnival Improvement Committee's judging, named Image Nation's "Kaiso Kaiso" as Medium Band winner and Vibez Mas as Small Band winner. Both had The Lost Tribe on top in the large band category, and the Guardian reported that the band swept the large band titles at the National Carnival Commission, Downtown and Uptown judging.

Looking ahead
