The short version
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookie we set helps us decide whether to ask for your consent. Your theme, your analytics choice and your checklist progress are kept in your browser's local storage, which we cannot read from our servers.
What we store on your device
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| sc_region | Cookie | Records whether you are browsing from a region where we must ask before loading analytics. Holds only "eu" or "other". | 30 days |
| sc-consent | Local storage | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics. | Until you clear it |
| sc-theme | Local storage | Remembers whether you picked the light or dark theme. | Until you clear it |
| Tool progress | Local storage | Saves your progress in tools such as the packing checklist, only if you use them. | Until you clear it |
All of these are strictly necessary for a feature you use or are set by your own choices, so they do not need consent. The sc_region cookie is only set when our host tells us your country, and it never contains your location itself.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which guides are useful. It sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_<id>, which remember an anonymous visitor ID for up to two years so visits can be counted. Google does not give us your name or contact details. Here is when it loads:
- UK, EU, EEA and Switzerland: only after you choose “Accept analytics” on the banner, or the same button below.
- Everywhere else: by default, unless you choose “Decline analytics” below.
More detail is in our privacy policy.
Manage your choice
Your analytics choice
Checking your current choice...
Your choice is stored in this browser only. If analytics already loaded on this visit, declining takes full effect on your next page load.
You can also clear cookies and site data for socacarnival.com in your browser settings at any time. That resets your theme, your analytics choice and any checklist progress.
Other websites and embeds
When you follow a link to a band, promoter, ticket seller or partner, that website may set its own cookies, including ones that tell a partner you arrived from us. Those cookies are set by the other site under its own policy, not by us. Embedded videos load from the video provider only after you press play.
Advertising
There is no advertising on the site at the moment. If we add it, we will update this page first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
Changes and contact
We update this page whenever we change what we store, and the date at the top changes with it. Questions go to hello@socacarnival.com.
