Tobago Carnival 2026: Night Mas

What it is

On the evening of Carnival Saturday, 31 October 2026, several bands parade through the streets of Scarborough for Night Mas. Masqueraders wear neon strips and glow-in-the-dark lights that light up the route, from roughly 6pm until past midnight.¹ Earlier that afternoon, the Steelpan and Powder Parade keeps the powder flying.¹

Night Mas is one of Tobago Carnival's three street parades, alongside J'ouvert and the Parade of the Bands, and all three are centred on Scarborough.²

Tips

• It is a long day if you also play J'ouvert that morning. Rest in the middle of the day.
• Pace yourself: the Parade of the Bands is the next day.
• Exact times and the route are confirmed close to the date, so check with your band.
