The short version
Some links on Soca Carnival are partner links. If you buy or book through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Every partner link is labelled. Commissions never decide what we write, which bands or events we list, or how we describe them.
How partner links work
- They are labelled. A partner link sits next to a small Partner label that links back to this page. Pages that contain partner links also say so.
- They are marked for search engines. Partner links carry
rel="sponsored", so search engines know they are commercial. - They go to the real provider. A partner link takes you to the band, ticket seller or service's own site, with a tracking code that tells them you came from us.
- Non-partners get listed too. Bands, events and services without a partner arrangement are listed on the same terms and link straight to their official sites, with no tracking code.
What partners cannot buy
Partners and advertisers cannot pay for:
- what we write about them, or a review of any kind;
- a “verified” label, which only reflects our own fact-checking and the date we last checked;
- the removal of accurate information they do not like;
- an unlabelled placement. If a placement is ever paid for, it is labelled where it appears.
We are not affiliated with the National Carnival Commission or with any band, promoter or artist. Listing a business is not an endorsement. Read more in our editorial standards.
Advertising
There is no advertising on the site right now. If we add it, ads will appear only in fixed spaces labelled “Advertisement”, never disguised as articles or listings, and advertisers will have no say over our content. See the cookie policy for how consent would work.
How we count partner clicks
When analytics are on, a click on a partner link is counted as a “Partner Click” event with the destination and the listing name, so we can see which partnerships are useful to readers. It is part of our analytics and is not linked to you. See the privacy policy.
