Who they are

For years this band was simply "Ronnie & Caro", owned by Ronnie and Caroline McIntosh. It has been a regular winner downtown: the 2025 presentation Shall We Dance took the Downtown Band of the Year title, and the Guardian lists earlier Downtown wins from 2014 to 2018 and in 2023.1

For Carnival 2026 the band rebranded as RC Mas, with "a new name, a new home, and a new generation at the helm." That first RC Mas presentation, The Webs We Weave, came with the House of Carnival, a one-stop hub at the corner of Maraval Road and Herbert Street.2 It placed second among large bands in the 2026 Downtown competition.3

Carnival 2027: The Mystical Garden

Justin McIntosh, Ronnie and Caro's son, now leads the band. The Express described the switch from Ronnie and Caro to RC Mas as "far more than a name change."4 For 2027 the band presents The Mystical Garden, with ten sections listed on its website, from Rise of The Phoenix to Goddess of the Sun.5
