Fog Angels

Who they are

Fog Angels started about 14 years ago as friends getting together to make a J'ouvert in Crown Point, Tobago: "mud, oil and revelry in the streets," as the Guardian put it. It has since grown into a business employing hundreds, and by 2020 its J'ouvert drew more than 2,000 people.¹ The band only "tiptoed" into pretty mas before the first Tobago Carnival in 2022, and as crowds grew its J'ouvert moved from Crown Point to Scarborough.¹ Tele and Keri Cruz lead the band together.^1,2

Tobago Carnival 2026: Fantasy Island

Fog Angels' 2026 presentation is Fantasy Island, launched on 30 June for the fifth Tobago Carnival, which runs from 30 October to 1 November 2026.¹ Tele Cruz said it "was born from the idea of creating an escape from the ordinary, a place where imagination replaces routine." With partners, the band has put together a full lineup: Stink N Dutty at 3am, then J'ouvert at 4am and Sand Jam at 10am, plus, new for 2026, The Gala, a pink-and-white affair at the Coco Reef Hotel. It closes with a Beach to Beach Monday wear event and its Last Lap on 2 November from 7pm.² The official Tobago Carnival calendar lists Stink and Dutty on Friday 30 October at the Parade Grounds in Bacolet, Sand Jam on Saturday 31 October from 10am to 4pm at Pigeon Point Heritage Park (TT$180), The Gala on Saturday 31 October at the Coco Reef Hotel (US$65), and Beach to Beach on Monday 2 November from 2pm, from Store Bay to Pigeon Point, with packages from TT$700.³ In 2025 the band played The Wild Wild West.⁴
